RELI 110: Islam in 21st Century

Instructor:

Dr. Louay Safi holds a Ph.D. from Wayne State University, Michigan, USA. He is a Professor of Politics and Islamic Thought and a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), Washington, D.C. Previously, he served as Dean of Research at the International Islamic University of Malaysia and has taught at several prestigious institutions including George Washington University, Indiana University and Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), Georgetown University, and most recently at Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Qatar. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Safi writes and lectures extensively on globalization, modernity, human rights, and the relationship between Islam and the West. He is the author of 24 books exploring these themes and their impact on contemporary societies.
